Latin American Heritage Celebration

The Latin American Studies Committee hosted an Open House Celebrating Hispanic Heritage with Music performed by Roberto Arce and his wife, arranged by G. Hung and coordinated with Zinta Conrad, Flora Breidenbach, and other faculty members at the College of DuPage Foreign Languages and Communications Department in Glen Ellyn. G. Hung contacted the Chicago Old Town School of Folk Music who referred Roberto Arce and his wife to perform Latin American popular and vintage music in the guitar with vocal accompaniment at the College of DuPage Center in Glen Ellyn, DuPage County, Illinois.

Featuring La Giralda Tower at the Cathedral of Seville known for the Chapel of the Star, gilded in gold, precious stones, and a radiant diamond star scepter held by Immaculate Mary and the baby Jesus crowned in gold. In addition, there is an embedded pipe organ, ornamented in precious woods from Cuba and the Americas. The Cathedral of Seville is one of the largest holy sites in the world, following the Cathedral of Aya Sophia. In addition to the embedded Antique Pipe Organ Carved from Wood Imported from Cuba and the New World by Christopher Columbus.
